Meeting January 13, 2010

Notes From Hibbie

Our scheduled speaker cancelled due to family illness. Fortunately we had two members who gave classification talks. Our members have such varied and interesting backgrounds that classification talks are a highlight for us.  Tom Schoenecker told us about his college days at UW Madison where he majored in accounting and became a lifelong fan of its sports teams. He became a CPA and after several years decided to change paths and  work in his family business of tool and die supplies. Tom is an avid runner who has logged thousands of miles regardless of the weather.  Gordy Bohmann's work beginnings didn't include an opportunity for college so he chose a trade. Trade apprenticeships were operated through high school and led to union jobs. Gordy said his variety of apprentice experiences and good learning opportunities from veteran plumbers helped him get off to a good start. After finishing his apprenticeship the union wanted him on a job the next day. After working in varied plumbing jobs around St Francis he bought into a plumbing  business and made it a career. We are especially thankful for Tom and Gordy's devotion to RCMF over the years.
